Moving through the Seasons

a series of four, one day retreats

“The whole day was uplifting, awe inspiring and transformational. The venue was out of this world and a perfect setting to escape the fast world we live in to allow more focus on just being. It was so interesting to make the connections between seasonal changes and those within ourselves. I left (reluctantly) feeling so positive and energised. I will be definitely booking another one.”

Laura M.

“The absolute highlight was the sound healing. I have never had an experience like it and loved it.”

Moving through Summer Retreat

The Gathering Fields, Lancaster, LA2 9DN

“The location was beautiful and the barn had a very positive and warm feel about it, with it’s countryside views and log burning fire. Having a full day to ‘retreat’ allowed us to dig deeper, spend time outside and connect with the environment. The effects of this day has been long lasting and really made a difference to the way I live my life”

K.C

“I enjoyed everything about the retreat. I loved the different elements and the not knowing what we were going to do next. The most powerful thing was the sound healing. It was amazing.”

“Just when we thought we had finished the day, Helen built an outside fire. We ate food on whittled sticks, whilst sat on tree trunks under a bright evening sky and a double rainbow. A perfect end to a perfect day.”

Karen

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the day?

Each of the seasonal days will have something different due to the nature of the retreat.  Enjoy a full day of movement (indoors and outside), natural mindfulness, forest bathing, walking, seasonal food, campfire.

The gentle rhythm allows time throughout the day to relax, reflect and rewind, so you leave feeling you have had a full weekend away even though it has only been a day.

I’ve signed up – what happens next?

Once your booking and payment have been received, you will be sent a link to a secure online health screening form.  Please complete fully then ‘SEND’.  This only needs to be done once so, if you have filled one out previously with Natural Movement Matters you won’t need to do it again.

Further information will be sent out a week before the date of the retreat to confirm details, location and what you need to bring.

How do I get there?

The Gathering Fields is based on Swainshead Hall Farm, Over Wyresdale, Lancaster LA2 9DN.

By Car:   If you are coming with friends why not car share! With only a 20-30 minute drive from Preston or 1 hour from Manchester and the Lake District, it will be more fun if you come together and it's a way of starting the retreat earlier!

By Public Transport: The nearest train stations are Lancaster, Galgate/Garstang, and you could take a taxi to the venue. There is also a Mega Bus Stop at Lancaster University which is nearer than the train station.

What should I wear?

We are heading to Lancaster, so be prepared for all weather!

Although we have an indoor space with a cosy log burner, it is a converted barn, wear clothes that you can layer and that will allow you to move freely in.

We will be outside as much as possible, so bring waterproofs, boots or wellies, hats are a great idea as it gets windy on the hills. Please bring a spare change of clothing.

A big cosy blanket and warm fluffy socks will help the sound healing feel even more magical.

I have never been to a retreat before – what do I need to bring?

We will be both inside and outside as much as possible, so wear clothes that you can layer as well as allowing you to move freely.  Bring waterproofs, boots or wellies, hats are a great idea as it gets windy on the hills. Please bring a spare change of clothing.

A big cosy blanket and warm fluffy socks will help the sound healing feel even more magical.

Do you have to be fit?

No! This retreat really is for Every Body!

We will be moving throughout the day and some of that may be on hilly uneven terrain, but the day will be gentle and you will be encouraged to do as much or as little as you want.

If you do have ongoing health issues or pain, please get in touch before booking to make sure this day is right for you.

What are the facilities like?

Based on a working farm, The Gathering Fields is a very special place, nestled amongst hills with breathing taking views.

We will join together in a converted stone barn with log burning fire, which will be the base for our indoor sessions.

There is a kitchen area for hot drinks and toilet facilities.

Outside we will explore the gardens, fields and woodland, not forgetting enjoying time together around the outdoor sheltered firepit.

Allergies, food intolerances and dietary considerations - can you cater for me?

Yes. Please just let us know in advance.

We do understand that living with certain food intolerances can be hard, so if you would prefer to bring your own food, please do.  You will be able to sit and eat with the rest of the group with a peace of mind that the food you are eating will love your body as much as you do.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancellations more than 60 days prior to the start date of the retreat will receive a full refund.

No transfers or refunds are given for cancellations within 60 days of the retreat, but you can send someone to take your place though. Email us to let us know so we can make them feel welcome.
